Official Microsoft Office Fixes and Workarounds

It took forever, but Microsoft has finally launched a new website section in which they will attempt to catalog issues/bugs/problems with Microsoft Office applications and give their Fixes and Workarounds.

You can access the Office Page from which you then select the application of interest by using the following link

I don’t know if they remove issues once they release an update, or if it is because the site is new, but several very recent issues are not presently listed.

They also don’t have any Report a Bug form/site.  They mention, under the heading More ways to get help and provide feedback, leaving comment on a page, or using the application Feedback, but that’s never achieve anything when I’ve used them.  That would also imply that such forms include your identity should they need to follow-up, no?!   Now they’ve got me worried about privacy and what information is being collected.

I think it would be much more beneficial if the community at large could simply fill-in an online form (include images, attachments, …) and submit issues.  It would also be most beneficial to list all known bugs, not just those with workarounds so people are at least aware that Microsoft already knows about problem, or not.

Hopefully, they will keep this site up-to-date considering the number of problems that have come from every recent update to Office365/2016 (and the ones listed below are just the ones I’m directly aware of!).

Don’t get me wrong, this is certainly a step in the right direction, and one none too soon, but there is still plenty more room for improvement.  Let us just hope they continue down this path further.
