Just a heads up that there are now numerous reports that the most recent update impacting the MSCOMCTL.OCX actually breaks TreeView, ListViews et al.
First and foremost, Microsoft was advised of the issue and we are all waiting for them to release and update to fix the faulty update.
Secondly, there are people that suggest that the workaround solution is to replace the faulty MSCOMCTL.OCX file with an older version (6.x.xx.xx).
So if your ActiveX control suddenly stop working and generating 2683, 438, … errors, know that it isn’t you, but rather Office that is the issue.
I must also, once again, state how you should avoid using ActiveX controls altogether! For the Treeview control in particular, please review my article entitled Great Access Tools – Treeview Control for a great alternative to the ActiveX control.
