Modernizing The Microsoft Access Interface!

Some people have asked me what I’ve been working on and so I thought I’d share a sneak peak.

Basically, I’ve been working on trying to elevate the Access interface a bit and have been working on a few new menus concepts and thus developing content, demos for my blog and YouTube channel.

I recorded a video on the subject yesterday, and have decided to scrap it and start over as I’ve added more idea since.

Here are a few images to give people ideas and inspiration hopefully.

A lot of time has been spent dealing with multiple issues with the Modern Web Browser Control. Sadly, more time fighting it rather than actually developing!

Demo Database

Feel free to download a 100% unlocked copy of a sample database I have put together by using the link provided below:

Download “Microsoft Access Menu Samples” Microsoft-Access-Menus.zip – Downloaded 7902 times – 129.26 KB Download “Microsoft Access 100% Local Menu Samples” Menus-Local.zip – Downloaded 8064 times – 115.86 KB

Once downloaded and unzipped, be sure upon opening the database to edit each form to change the Control Source of each Modern Web Browser control to point to the proper location of the HTML files. I did try to provide an automation mechanism to do this automatically, but Access crashes each time it is run.

Also note that although the demo database has 3 examples, I have include more HTML examples for people to explore should they wish to.
